VLC Media Player has long been one of the most popular and widely used media players around. Referred to as the “swiss army knife of media players,” it plays virtually every type of media imaginable, including disc images, .rars, and even web streams, all without the need for any codec packs (unlike Windows Media Player I might point out).
Already available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, fans have been eagerly waiting for an Android version to help round out their ability to enjoy media on the go. There’s no shortage of media players for Androidout there, but VLC Media Player is the one that “just works.
